Dr. Muhammad Mahtab Hossain Mazed: 15th February, World Childhood Cancer Day 2022. In 2002, 178 national organizations from 90 countries met to raise awareness about pediatric cancer.
This day is celebrated by Child Cancer International (CCI). In addition to raising awareness, one of the goals of the day is to reduce mortality, and to reduce the pain associated with cancer and the plight of children fighting the disease.
Dr. MM Mazed, a prominent researcher of Bangladesh and founder of the National Patient Welfare Society, writes in his column about today`s topic .. Children get cancer mainly due to genetic reasons. The idea that children can also get cancer is a cruel truth for many parents. Babies in the womb of the mother are made with this type of gene that will cause cancer. Later it took on a demonstrable shape. The hope is, however, that most cancers in children will be cured if they are treated in a timely, proper way by an experienced homeopath. However, the number of children suffering from cancer of the nasal glands, kidneys and eyes is not less.
Experts claim that most children`s cancers are curable. Once identified and treated, 70 percent of the patients recover. But only 20 percent of patients get access to advanced treatment.
According to the World Health Organization, at least 300,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer each year. In low-income countries, 90 percent of infected children die due to lack of treatment.
According to the agency, the death rate of children with cancer is currently rising alarmingly. There are about 13 to 15 lakh children with cancer in Bangladesh. In 2005, the infant mortality rate from cancer was 7.5 percent. And if you are not aware, in 2030 this rate will stand at 13 percent. ‘The number of children with cancer is increasing every year. Therefore, in addition to proper treatment of children, nutritious foods such as spinach, broccoli, egg yolks, beans, liver, chicken, cabbage, bananas, sweet potatoes, oranges, turnips, milk, cabbage, barbati, walnuts will be rich in calcium, potassium and iron. `And although there is no specific cause, in most cases genetic causes, viruses, the presence of toxins in food, chemicals, environmental problems cause cancer in children. However, the hope is that if the disease is detected early, most children are likely to be good at homeopathy. The first step in raising awareness among children is to fight cancer, "said Dr. Mazed. Then there is eye cancer. If it is caught early and treated, then the eye can be removed and he can recover. Only if a child is diagnosed with bone cancer is he less likely to recover, because the cancer spreads very quickly. Rashed Jahangir said that children do not get the same cancer as adults, but now there is enough cancer treatment in Bangladesh. Therefore, if a child has cancer, he should be treated in the right way as soon as possible without breaking up the family, only then it is possible to cure him.

Notable among the most common types of cancer in children are the first five years after birth: neuroblastoma, Wilms tumor, retinoblastoma, leukemia, non-Hodgkin`s lymphoma, glaucoma and other brain tumors.
Five to ten years: leukemia, non-Hodgkin`s lymphoma, glaucoma, sarcoma (bone, flesh), germ cell cancer.
Over ten years: Leukemia, non-Hodgkin`s lymphoma, Hodgkin`s disease, osteosarcoma, Ewing`s sarcoma, other tissue sarcoma, germ cell cancerAnd eye cancer, kidney cancer, nerve cancer, liver cancer and brain cancer. It can also cause blood cancer and bone cancer. Early signs of pediatric eye cancer include whitening of the eyeballs, which can be seen as cat`s eyes at night. Kidney cancer is when a lump or tumor is felt on either side of the abdomen. If it is too big, the stomach becomes swollen. If there is nerve cancer, the area will swell and pain will be felt. These cancers occur in the neck, paranasal sinuses or abdomen. Liver cancer will cause swelling and pain in the right side of the abdomen below the ribs. Brain cancer can cause a variety of symptoms, including headaches, difficulty walking, vomiting, weakness, fever, and bleeding for no apparent reason. Bone cancer can cause swelling and pain in certain areas of the body. And about one-third of children with cancer have leukemia. Symptoms of leukemia include frequent fever, fatigue, lethargy, skin rash, skin rash with swelling of the neck glands, and so on. Some people may not have any symptoms. Later leukemia is detected in the blood test. If leukemia is suspected, it needs to be tested quickly. Which will determine the type of leukemia as well as the diagnosis of leukemia. Children usually have lymphoblastic leukemia and myeloid leukemia. These diseases usually occur between the ages of six months and 15 years. To diagnose the disease, it is necessary to know whether there is any hereditary cause along with the details. If proper treatment can be given in time then it is possible to cure 80% of children`s cancers.
