Four patients died of dengue and 1,121 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever in last 24 hours till Saturday morning.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with the fatalities the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 241.
Among the recent deceased, two were reported in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and one each in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Khulna Division (excluding CC).
Of them, 270 dengue patients were admitted in hospital under DNCC while 179 were hospitalized in DSCC. Some 3,954 patients are receiving treatment in different hospitals across the country.
A total of 48,582 dengue cases have been reported since January 1, 2024
Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
