Online Report : Fifteen Bangladeshi citizens detained by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) have been handed over to the Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB).
The transfer took place on Thursday (August 28) at 8:10 pm at Hakimpur check post in Taluigacha, Satkhira Sadar.
According to a BGB press release, the individuals—including men, women, and children—were arrested by BSF on Wednesday night (August 27) at around 11:30 pm while attempting to enter India illegally. They are residents of Satkhira, Khulna, and Pirojpur districts.
The handover occurred through a flag meeting, attended by Amudia Company Commander of BSF Inspector Dibajyoti Dolly and Taluigacha BOP Commander of BGB Abul Kashem. Later, a BGB patrol team brought the detainees to Satkhira Sadar Police Station.
Taluigacha BOP Commander Naeb Subedar Abul Kashem filed a general diary at Satkhira Sadar Police Station regarding the handover.
Satkhira Sadar Police StationOfficer-in-ChargeShaminul Haque, said the detainees are now in police custody. Their personal information and character are being verified, and after reports are received, arrangements will be made to hand them over to their legal guardians.
