A fire that broke out at a substation of the Aminbazar Power Grid distribution company in Savar, has been under control.
Nine units of Fire Service were able to bring the blaze under their control around 9:15AM on Tuesday. But the fire was not fully extinguished.
According to Md Saleh Uddin, deputy director of Fire Service`s Dhaka Division, the fire originated from a transformer of Aminbazar Power Grid distribution company approximately 7:15AM on Tuesday. Getting information, two units from Kolayanpur in the capital went to the scene. But when the transformer`s oil tanker caught fire, it took on a horrific shape.
Later, nine more unit from different places went to the spot to control the blaze.
After two hours of efforts, the firemen brought the blaze under their control, but not fully extinguished, he added.
UNO Abu Bakr said, " I visited the scene and talked to the Fire Service. A total of 15 units are working here currently. A five-member probe body has been formed. The reason behind the fire could be known after submission of the report by the committee."
