Dhaka college, City college students clash at Science Lab
  15, April, 2025, 2:43:50:PM

Students from Dhaka College and City College engaged in a violent clash on Tuesday near the Science Lab intersection in the capital.

Eyewitnesses reported that both groups hurled bricks and stones at each other, triggering chaos in the busy area. The exact cause behind the confrontation was not immediately known.

The incident unfolded around 11:40 AM, when an altercation escalated into full-scale conflict involving chasing and counter-chasing between the students.

It was seen that students from Dhaka City College had taken position beneath the Science Lab footbridge, while Dhaka College students gathered in front of the Government Teachers’ Training College. Both groups were seen engaging in pitched brick-batting from their respective positions.

In response to the escalating situation, additional police forces were deployed to the area to restore order. Masud Alam, Deputy Commissioner of the Ramna Division under Dhaka Metropolitan Police, was seen actively working to control the scene and disperse the students.

Authorities are continuing efforts to calm tensions and prevent further violence, though the situation remains tense in the surrounding areas.
