Power star Pawan Kalyan`s new action drama They Call Him OG has crossed the 200-crore mark at the box office worldwide in only three days, according to the trade website Sacnilk. This makes it the superstar`s first film to scale the mark.
They Call Him OG is directed by Sujeeth, and co-starring Pawan Kalyan in the film is Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist Omi Bhau, along with Priyanka Mohan, Prakash Raj, Arjun Das and Sriya Reddy. Pawan Kalyan plays a former gangster named Ojas Gambheera, alias OG, who returns after a decade to Bombay in 1993. Circumstances pit him against Omi Bhau, a rival crime lord.
Written by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Danayya Kalyan Dasari, They Call Him OG has cinematography by Ravi K. Chandran and Manoj Paramahamsa. The film is edited by Naveen Nooli and the music is composed by Thaman S. Produced by DVV Entertainment, Pawan Kalyan`s latest release has seen a three-day global take of around 55 crores, according to Sacnilk.
Pawan Kalyan, who is also Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, had to divide his time between his political responsibilities and completing the film. Despite this, the film opened with a lot of excitement, which is reflected in the massive numbers that They Call Him OG continues to rake in at the box office.
Fans and critics alike have attributed the positive performance of They Call Him OG at the box office to Pawan Kalyan`s performance, besides the film`s stylish execution and heavy-duty action.
