| Five more people have died of dengue, including three outside Dhaka city corporation areas, while 1, 147 patients were hospitalised across the country in the past 24 hours.
According to a press release from the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday (3 November), alongside the five deaths, 1,147 new dengue patients were hospitalized. Among them: 132 in Barisal division, 98 in Chattogram division, 266 in Dhaka division (outside city corporation), 284 in Dhaka North City, 145 in Dhaka South City, 59 in Khulna division (outside city corporation), 65 in Mymensingh division (outside city corporation), 70 in Rajshahi division (outside city corporation), 19 in Rangpur division (outside city corporation), and 9 in Sylhet division (outside city corporation).
In the past 24 hours, 1,042 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total discharges this year to 69,452.
The health authorities reported that since January this year, a total of 72,822 patients have been hospitalized due to dengue, and 288 have died so far.
For context, from January to 31 December 2024, 101,214 patients were admitted to hospitals due to dengue, with 575 deaths. In 2023, a total of 1,705 people died from dengue, and 321,179 patients were hospitalised.
