An ambulance was reportedly set ablaze in Kishoreganj early Monday.

The incident occurred in Gaital area of the town, near Circuit House, where the ambulance had been parked on the roadside for several days due to mechanical issues.

According to reports, the fire was noticed early Monday, and firefighters rushed to the scene after at 4:05 am.

Firefighter Rubel Mia confirmed that the fire service team managed to bring the blaze under control shortly after arrival.

On Monday morning, local residents including Manik Mia said the burnt vehicle was a privately owned ambulance. It had been left on the road for repairs for quite some time. As most residents were asleep during the incident, no one saw who was responsible for starting the fire.

Meanwhile, police also visited the scene after receiving information about the incident. Assistant Sub-Inspector Mursaha, the duty officer at Sadar Police Station, said they suspect the fire may have been an act of sabotage.
