The government has transferred Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) of 158 upazilas across the country’s eight divisions. The Ministry of Public Administration issued the notification on Wednesday night (26 November), reassigning UNOs of Senior Assistant Secretary rank to various departments.

The transfers follow the appointment of new UNOs ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election. Earlier on Wednesday, new UNOs were appointed to 166 upazilas across the eight divisions.

According to the notification, the transferred UNOs must report to their new postings by 30 November after being relieved from their current positions. Failure to comply will result in immediate relief from their current posts on the afternoon of 30 November.

The notification also states that if an officer’s department or workplace has already changed, they must submit their joining letter specifying the current department’s name and address.
