Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) Thursday predicted that light rain is likely to occur at one or two places over three divisions in the next 24 hours from this morning.

"Light rain is likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions. Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country", said the forecast which begins from 9 am Thursday, BSS reports.

The Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining area moved north-north westwards and now lies over the same area (near lat. 9.0oN, lon: 82.0oE) at 06 am Thursday.

It is likely to move north-northwesterly direction and intensify further.

Light to moderate fog may occur at places over the country from late at night till early in the morning.

Country`s maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded 31.1 degree Celsius at Cox`s Bazar and minimum temperature today was recorded 12.1 degree Celsius at Tetulia.

Night and day temperatures may rise slightly over the country.

The sun sets Thursday at 05.10 pm and rises Friday at 06.23 am in the capital.
