(BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General today virtually joined the 36th anniversary celebration programme of Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) here today.
Marking its anniversary, Thakurgaon-based non-governmental development organization ESDO organized a three-day programme with the theme "With the grassroots people: on the side of the grassroots people".
Mirza Fakhrul, also former chairman of the organization, inaugurated a mural on the occasion and delivered his speech virtually as the chief guest.
Mirza Faisal Amin, also BNP district unit general secretary, unveiled the mural on behalf of the Mirza Fakhrul.
Addressing on virtual platform, Mirza Fakhrul hoped the organization will continue its works for the welfare of the people and wished success of all programme marking the anniversary.
Earlier, Health Services Division Secretary Md. Saidur Rahman inaugurated the programme this morning by releasing balloons with hoisting national flag and organizational flag at the organization`s head office premises in the district.
Professor Dr. Mohammed Helal Uddin, Executive Vice Chairman of the Microcredit Regulatory Authority and Organization`s founding executive director Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman also joined the inaugural ceremony in person.
A painting exhibition of young artists titled `Anubhabe Thakurgaon` and the distribution of winter clothes to underprivileged people were also inaugurated on the occasion.
In the evening, CPD Fellow Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya, Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) Chairman Jalal Ahmed and Bureau of Non-Formal Education Director General Md.Younus Ali also joined the programme, among others.
"Traditional Bhawaiya Festival" with the performance of prominent artists of Rangpur was also held.
