Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal Mohammad Tazul Islam has said that the prosecution team has no information regarding whether Interpol has issued a red notice against Sheikh Hasina.
He also said that such information can only be obtained from the National Central Bureau (NCB), a division of the Bangladesh Police, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Chief Prosecutor revealed that on November 13, his office submitted a formal request for issuing the red notice to the NCB.
Later, he said the NCB, under the office of the Inspector General of Police, is responsible for completing the procedures required to issue the notice through Interpol.
Tazul Islam made these remarks during a press conference at the old High Court premises on Sunday (December 22).
Regarding investigations against Sheikh Hasina, Tazul Islam said these are ongoing and include allegations of crimes against humanity, such as the July-August mass killings, disappearances, crossfires, and incidents like the Pilkhana and Hefazat-e-Islam killings over the past 16 years.
The Chief Prosecutor expressed hope that the investigation team could complete their findings within three months, though this timeline is not final.
