Online Desk : Export earnings for December 2024 surged to USD 4.6274 billion, a 17.72% increase from USD 3.9309 billion in December 2023, according to the latest report from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) released on Thursday, January 2.
The Ready-Made Garments (RMG) sector continued to dominate, contributing USD 3.7705 billion—up 17.45% from USD 3.2104 billion in December 2023. Other sectors also posted notable growth.
Agricultural exports rose by 14.41% to USD, 100.1 million, leather and leather goods exports grew by 24.19% to USD 110.9 million, and home textiles saw a 20.47% increase, earning USD 83.9 million.
From July to December in the 2024-25 fiscal year, Bangladesh exported 27 product categories, including RMG, pharmaceuticals, and leather goods, generating USD 24.5335 billion. This marks a 12.84% rise compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.
This robust performance highlights the continued strength and diversification of Bangladesh`s export sectors in the global market.
