Myanmar agrees to take back 1.80 lakh Rohingyas

Myanmar has agreed to take back around 1,80000 Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh.

The country finally recognised 1,80000 Rohingyas from a list of about 8 lakh Rohingyas as eligible for return to their homeland.

Myanmar provided the list in six phases from 2018 to 2020.

Deputy Prime Minister - Foreign Minister of Myanmar, U Than Swe, said this in a meeting on the sidelines of the 6th BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok on Friday, April 4.

Chief Adviser`s high representative Dr Khalilur Rahman shared this information.

Chief Adviser`s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Mazumder confirmed the matter.
