| An auto-rickshaw driver was killed when his vehicle overturned and fell into a roadside ditch in Pyadar Bazar area under Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was Jahangir Howlader, son of Khalek Howlader, a resident of Londa village of the upazila.
The accident occurred around 9.30 AM when the battery-run auto rickshaw fell into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control of the vehicle, said Jewel Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kalapara Police Station.
Critically injured Jahangir was taken to Kalapara Upazila 50-bed hospital, where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
