The BNP has suspended all party posts, including primary membership, of the party chairperson`s adviser Fazrul Rahman for three months.
Fazlur Rahman was informed about the decision through a letter on Tuesday, August 26, one of the party leaders told Jago News.
The move comes following his controversial remarks about the July Mass Uprising.
The letter said the explanation Fazlur Rahman gave in response to a show-cause served to him on Sunday, August 24, was not satisfactory.
"Despite this, considering your role in the Liberation War as a valiant freedom fighter, your all-level party posts, including primary membership, have been suspended for three months instead of taking strict organisational action," the letter reads.
In the letter, the BNP leader has also been warned of being cautious in speaking at Talk Show or on social media platforms.
