Five members of a family were killed and two others injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a microbus on the Cox’s Bazar–Chittagong highway in Chakaria on Wednesday morning.

Among the deceased are four women and one child. Their identities could not be immediately confirmed.

Mehedi Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Malumghat Highway Police Station, confirmed the incident to News. The army and local residents rescued the injured and took them to various hospitals in Chakaria.
