Jagannath University (JnU) authorities planned to inaugurate standard modern medical centre in the university in March of this year to provide standards medical treatment facilities to teachers, students and employees of the university.
JnU Chief Engineer Helal Uddin Patwari said that tasks of the project would be completed within February and treatment facilities like to be provided in full swing from March.
For Long times, students of the university have been demanding for standards medical centre full of high-level medical facilities in the university. For 20,000 students of the university, sole old medical centre is inadequate. In July of last year, JnU authorities take an initiative to broader the old medical centre. Ground floor of Rafiq Bhaban was selected for the centre. That time, JnU authorities assured students that within December medical centre would be inaugurated.But witnesses said, even half of the tasks of the project yet to be completed. Tiles have been placed in only one room among three and no medical instruments were seen there.
According to the authorities, students will get all facilities of primary treatment including blood test, EGC and different medical instruments will be installed. There will be separate ward for male and female students consist of 5-6 seats each.
