It was so beautiful around in fields then,
When morning breeze was blowing around,
When fields are emitting fragrance of love,
Men and woman busy, vibrant and gay,
Those lush green fields of paddy seedling,
Pours in you the nectar of heavenly bliss
Some beautiful fairies I beheld around,
Singing a balled, planting the seedlings
There I sew a mother with two young sons,
Alone tilling, weary, planting the seedlings,
I thought, she might be a laborious widow,
Who alone were leading her sons to excel?
Singing a sad song, an elegy might be,
To dedicate her lost husband I thought.
I imagined their father was around there,
Watching his family and listening the song,
His eyes were drenched, but lips smiling,
Jubilantly enjoying their jocund company
But, oh! I wish they could saw him there!
Absence makes the heart grow fonder,
Love is eternal; it never fades with time,
It is there, it was there, it will be there.
