Mijanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur: The inauguration of the Internal Boro Paddy Procurement 2026 was held in Phulpur on Thursday. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sadia Islam Sima officially launched the new paddy collection drive.

Attending the event were Upazila Food Controller Shahina Akter, Agriculture Officer Nadia Ferdousi, PIO Begum Shahin, Officer-in-Charge of the food warehouse Md. Rokunuzzaman, Food Inspectors Abdul Aziz and Shahriar Sultana Liza, Sub-Food Inspector Shamim Hasan, along with local farmers and journalists.

This year, 1,105 farmers from 10 unions and one municipality in the upazila have been selected through lottery to supply paddy to the food warehouse. Each farmer can sell up to 2 tons of paddies at the government-fixed price. The paddy must be dry with a maximum moisture content of 14%.
