Special Correspondent: Meritorious students who secured scholarships in the Grade-5 Private Primary Scholarship Examination organized by the Gazipur Private School Association (Tongi West Thana) were honoured with certificates, cash awards and crests at a ceremony held on Saturday afternoon.

The prize-giving event took place at the auditorium of Safiuddin Sarkar Academy and College, where former Member of Parliament and Freedom Fighter Alhaj Hasan Uddin Sarkar attended as the chief guest. He distributed scholarship funds, certificates and commemorative crests among the successful students.

The programme was presided over by the association’s President, Muhammad Hedayet Ullah. Among the special guests were Basir Ahmed, Convener of Tongi West Thana BNP; Mostafa Amir Faisal, Acting Assistant Head Teacher of Safiuddin Sarkar Academy and College; Md. Abdul Matin, President of Gazipur Private School Association, Tongi East Thana; Syed Atik, former President of Tongi Press Club; and Md. Shahabuddin, General Secretary of the Gazipur Private School Association.

The welcome address was delivered by the association’s General Secretary, Md. Mojibur Rahman. Invited guests included ward presidents Md. Kabir Chowdhury, Md. Saiful Islam, Md. Saidur Rahman Munna, Saiful Islam Jony and Lutfor Rahman Liton.

Speaking on the occasion, Hasan Uddin Sarkar stressed the importance of the combined efforts of teachers and parents in shaping students into honest, competent and responsible global citizens.

The event concluded with the formal distribution of scholarship awards, certificates and crests among the distinguished students in recognition of their academic achievements.
