Special Correspondent: Haji Saeed Laboratory School of Tongi has been honoured as the Best Educational Institution of the Year at an award ceremony organised by the Bangladesh Kindergarten Association.

The programme, which also featured the distribution of prizes and certificates among meritorious students who received scholarships in the Bangladesh Kindergarten Association Scholarship Examination, was held on Saturday afternoon at the auditorium of Uttara Cambrian College.

Abul Hossain, vice-president of the Bangladesh Kindergarten Association, presided over the event. Professor Dr AHM Mostafizur Rahman, former vice-chancellor of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, attended the programme as the inaugural guest.

Mohammad Hattem, president of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and a prominent industrialist, addressed the event as the chief guest.

Professor and poet Muhammad Masum Billah moderated the programme. The welcome address was delivered by Lion Tajul Islam Nazrul, general secretary of the association.

Among others, Lion Dr Dilkusha Begum, Lt Col Md Didarul Alam, Lion Md Anisur Rahman Anis, Major Amin Ahmed Afsari (retd), Advocate Babul Hossain and Dr Md Sakhawat Hossain also spoke at the event.

At the concluding session, certificates and prizes were distributed among students from different educational institutions across the country who received private scholarships in 2025.

The organisers also honoured the Best Educational Institution of the Year and the Best Head Teachers for their contributions to education.

Haji Saeed Laboratory School, a reputed educational institution in Tongi, received the Best Educational Institution of the Year award. On behalf of the school, its founder and Managing Director Syed Atik received the award at the ceremony.
