APHC call to observe August 5 as Black Day, urges global action on Kashmir
  4, August, 2026, 7:56:57:PM

Special Correspopndent: The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has announced full support for the All Parties Hurriyat Conference call to observe 5 August 2026 as Black Day with a peaceful shutdown across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the DFP spokesperson in a statement said the party has appealed to Kashmiris across the globe, parliamentarians, human rights organizations, civil society groups and media to express solidarity through peaceful demonstrations, seminars, public meetings, prayer gatherings and awareness campaigns.

The spokesperson said 5 August 2019 was a turning point in the history of the Kashmir dispute after India’s unilateral revocation of the region’s special constitutional status. “Such unilateral measures cannot determine the final status of a territory whose future is subject to international attention and relevant United Nations resolutions,” he said. He emphasized that the Kashmir dispute concerns the political rights, human dignity and future of millions of people, and that lasting peace in South Asia requires a peaceful process reflecting the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in line with international law and UN resolutions.
