Indian journalist exposes Modi govt’s failures, says BRICS brought no gains for India
  13, September, 2026, 6:15:47:PM

Online Desk: Senior Indian journalist and Editor of The Principal, India, Ajay Shukla has strongly criticised the Narendra Modi government, saying that India has gained nothing from BRICS despite claims by the BJP that Modi has emerged as a “Vishwa Guru”.
Ajay Shukla made these remarks while speaking as a guest on a programme hosted by Haidar Hayat Khan.
He said the reality was that Modi had surrendered before US President Donald Trump over issues concerning Iran and Russia, exposing the hollowness of the Indian government’s claims of an independent foreign policy.
“BRICS has brought nothing for India,” Shukla said, adding that BJP supporters could only claim that Modi had become a “Vishwa Guru”.
He further criticised India’s economic situation, saying China had effectively turned India into a dumping ground for its products, while questioning the actual state of the Indian economy.
The senior journalist also highlighted the severe unemployment situation in India. He said India has zero GDP and inflation is on the rise. Long queues can be seen in India for Rs 8000 and Rs 10,000 per month jobs, he added. He said that even people holding PhD degrees were seeking jobs as peons.
Shukla’s remarks have highlighted the growing gap between the Modi government’s claims of India’s rising global stature and the economic and employment challenges confronting the country.
