Online Desk : A woman was killed and her husband injured after being hit by a truck at Golra on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Manikganj on Sunday.

The dead Nazma Begum, 34, wife of Faruk Hossain of Goaria village under Saturia upazila of the district.

It was learnt that the couple Faruk and Nazma left Manikganj on a motorcycle for their home on Sunday evening. When they reached Golra, a truck coming from behind hit the motorcycle and the woman fell and was crushed under the wheels of the truck. She died on the spot.

Her husband, Faruk Hossain, who was riding the motorcycle, was seriously injured. Locals rescued him and took to Manikganj Hospital.

Golra Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Anwar Hossain confirmed it.
