Online Desk : An army soldier has been injured in gunfire from the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), an armed group, in Ruma upazila, Bandarban. The incident occurred at 5:00 pm on Monday (December 30) in the Paindu area of the upazila. The injured soldier, Shakil, is a Lance Corporal in the army.

According to local and police sources, joint forces have been conducting anti-terrorism operations in the Ruma, Thanchi, and Rowangchhari areas of the district for an extended period. On Monday, while carrying out an operation in Paindu, Ruma, the army came under fire from KNF members, injuring Lance Corporal Shakil in the leg.

Ruma Police Station`s Officer-in-Charge, Md Sohrawardy, confirmed the incident, stating, `I have heard about the injury of a soldier named Shakil in the Paindu area due to gunfire from KNF. Further details will be available later.`
