Online Desk : The local administration of Hathazari upazila in Chattogram district, conducted a mobile court on Sunday and fined three brick kilns a total of Tk 2 lakh for violating regulations.

The operation was led by Lutfun Nahar Sharmin, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of Hathazari.

While speaking to reporters, she stated that the brick kilns, Diamond Auto Brick Field, General Brick Field, and MB Brick Field, were fined for operating without the necessary permits for soil extraction and licenses, in violation of the Brick Kiln Establishment and Operation Act 2013, Section 15.

Diamond Auto Brick Field was fined Tk 1 lakh, while General Brick Field and MB Brick Field were each fined Tk 50,000.

The operation was supported by Janatul Ferdous, Senior Chemist of the Department of Environment and the Hathazari Model Police Station.

The local authorities have emphasized their continued efforts to ensure compliance with environmental and legal standards.
