Former Member of Parliament for Khulna-2 constituency and former President of Khulna Metropolitan BNP, Nazrul Islam Monju, has stated that the way forward is clear, and return to democracy will be through a free and fair election and Bangladesh`s political future will be shaped only by its people.
He made these remarks as the chief guest during an Iftar gathering and prayed program organized by former leaders of BNP`s Ward no 30 unit, to pray for the souls of deceased leaders at Dada Match Kaderia Jame Mosque premises on Tuesday (March 18).
He emphasized that Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) expresses a commitment to upholding democracy, accountability, rule of law, good governance, justice, and human dignity. The party emphasizes that the political future of Bangladesh should be determined solely by its people.
He further said, "We hope that our global friends and partners will respect the global norms of non-interference, sovereignty and peaceful conflict resolution for our collective development. Through democratic and liberal trade partnerships, we want to work closely with our neibours to ensure the collective progress of our region."
The event was chaired by Nurul Islam Liton, with special guests including former Mayor of Khulna City Corporation and former General Secretary of Khulna Metropolitan BNP Moniruzzaman Moni; Professor Arifuzzaman Apu; Asaduzzaman Murad and Yusuf Harun Mojnu.
Leader and activists of different units BNP were also present in the gathering.
