Online Report : The government has taken multifaceted initiatives to enhance the capacity of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), said Mahfuz Alam, Information and Broadcasting Adviser to Bangladesh`s interim government.
He made the remarks on Wednesday during a focus group discussion organized by BFDC at Ministry of Information and Broadcasting conference room.
Highlighting the vast market of country’s film industry, the Information Adviser said this potential must be harnessed. To do so, BFDC and all stakeholders in the film industry need to work collaboratively.
Mahfuz Alam emphasized that alongside the infrastructural development of BFDC, skills of its officials and employees must also be improved.
He assured that the government will provide full support in this regard.
He also noted the growing interest among film professionals surrounding the under-construction film city in Kabirpur.
He called on all concerned to help accelerate the construction of this modern film city.
Speaking at the focus group discussion, Secretary of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Mahbuba Farzana, stated that the existing infrastructure at BFDC must be renovated for better shooting conditions.
She also stressed the importance of enhancing aesthetic appeal of the film city being built in Kabirpur.
BFDC’s Managing Director, Masuma Rahman Tani, said that BFDC is working under various constraints. She sought government cooperation to advance the corporation`s renovation initiatives.
The focus group discussion was attended by film directors, producers, cinematographers and other stakeholders from the film industry.
