The accomplices of the fascist, sitting inside the secretariat, are receiving additional advantages, BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas commented on Wednesday.
"The statement that BNP people are sitting in the administration, is childish," he said at a discussion organised by Ganatantra Forum titled `Democracy, Reform and Reality in the Current Context` at the Jatiya Press Club.
"Our struggle against those who want to rehabilitate the Awami League in the country will continue. No one is opressed by the party than the BNP."
Mirza Abbas commented that despite differences, BNP, Jamaat, and NCP must remain united in the national interest.
"BNP people are not sitting in the administration. NCP has taken advantage of the Awami brokers in the administration," he added.
Abbas said there is a saying-hope for the best and prepare for the worst. "From that worst-case thinking, I believe the government probably won`t hold elections anytime soon. I see no indication of that happening. This is my personal opinion, not my party`s."
He, however, still hopes the government will take steps towards holding the election in line with the people`s aspirations. "There`s no alternative to the election."
