  12, July, 2025, 1:30:46:PM

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has shot a Bangladeshi national dead along Haripur border in Thakurgaon.

The deceased was identified as Askar Ali, 24, son of Kanura, a resident of Jibanpur village in the upazila.

According to locals and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), several people, including Askar Ali, went near barbed wire fence inside the Indian territory through border pillar 353 of Minapur border around 4:00am on Saturday. Sensing their presence, the BSF members opened fire on them, leaving Askar Ali dead on the spot.

Dinajpur 42 Battalion said they tried to contact BSF soon after being informed about the incident and called for a flag meeting to bring the body.
