| Kamrul Hasan : Political tension is rising across the country ahead of the upcoming national election. As campaigning intensifies for BNP-nominated candidates, a certain group—“jealous of BNP’s growing popularity”—is engaged in various conspiracies, alleged Afroza Khanam Rita, district BNP convener, member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council, and the BNP candidate for Manikganj-3.
Speaking as the chief guest at a public outreach and election campaign meeting organized on Wednesday night by the BNP and its front organizations of Ward-6 under Manikganj Municipality, she said: “Multiple conspiracies are underway to hinder the victory of the Sheaf of Paddy. The strongest response to these conspiracies is a united public opinion of democracy-loving people.”
Rita said the political situation in the country is complicated. While people are eager for change, attempts are being made to spread confusion through conspiracies. “A secret group is working in various ways. We must remain alert. The future of our country, the future of our children—everything depends on a right decision.”
Addressing the people of Manikganj-3, she said, “Manikganj must not be pushed toward decline. The whole country knows that Manikganj is a stronghold of the Sheaf of Paddy. To preserve this tradition, we must stay united.”
Referring to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s 31-point agenda for state structure reform, she stated: “These 31 points outline the framework for Bangladesh’s future political, administrative, and economic stability. If the people support us, we will be able to rebuild a democratic state.”
She added, “BNP’s politics is centered on the welfare of the people and the development of the country. We have fought—and continue to fight—to restore the people’s right to vote. Establishing development, justice, and democracy is our mission.”
Rita claimed that if BNP comes to power, it will quickly implement key priorities such as: – increasing employment opportunities, – major reforms in education and healthcare, – combating corruption, – accelerating local development.
“In Manikganj-3, the love of the people is my political strength,” she said. “People want change—they want justice, they want genuine development. If we remain united, the people will deliver a verdict in favor of change.”
Calling for victory for the Sheaf of Paddy, Rita said, “The people of Manikganj love the Sheaf of Paddy. We must honor that love. By ensuring victory for the Sheaf of Paddy, the people of Manikganj will pave the path to success.”
The meeting was presided over by former vice-president of the Municipal BNP, Md. Sabdar Hossain Chopal. It was conducted by District Jubo Dal Member-Secretary Mohammad Tuhinur Rahman Tuhin and Ward BNP President Md. Jinnah.
