| Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman on Saturday vowed that the perpetrators behind the attack on Inquilab Mancha Spokeperson Sharif Osman Hadi will be brought to justice and their networks uprooted soon.
Speaking to journalists after a special prayer meeting organized by members of the Hindu community at Malthia village of Shailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah district for the recovery of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, the AG described Hadi as “a hero of the July mass uprising” and said, “Today he is undergoing treatment after being shot by terrorists and we are praying for his speedy recovery wholeheartedly.”
Md. Asaduzzaman called the attack on Hadi an isolated incident and alleged it is part of a broader conspiracy aimed at sabotaging the ongoing political process.
“Terrorists from the defeated autocratic regime are targeting the leaders of the July mass uprising to destroy it, but they will not succeed,” he said.
The Attorney General also assured that the upcoming general election will be fair and peaceful, with both the government and the Election Commission fully committed to holding a free and transparent vote.
The event included prayers for the recovery of both Begum Khaleda Zia and Sharif Osman Hadi.
