| Kamrul Hasan: District BNP Convener and Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Afrooza Khanam Rita MP, has emphasized the importance of national unity and collective efforts in ensuring the country’s development, establishing fundamental rights for the people, and building a modern and prosperous state. She stated that political leadership, the administration, and the general public must work together to implement the government’s development plans and elevate Bangladesh’s position on the international stage.
She made these remarks on Friday afternoon (May 15) while addressing an extended meeting organized by the District BNP at her political office in Monno City, Manikganj.
Leaders and activists from different levels of the party, public representatives, and local dignitaries were present at the meeting.
Among those present were senior member of the District BNP convening committee and Member of Parliament for Manikganj-1 constituency S.A. Jinnah Kabir, Advocate Nurutaz Alam Bahar PP, Dr. Khondokar Akbar Hossain Bablu, Advocate Azad Hossain Khan, Satyen Kanta Pandit Bhajan, Advocate Zahir Alam Khan Lodhi, Golam Abedin Kayser, Golam Kibria Sayeed, Abdus Salam Badal, Nasiruddin Ahmed Jadu, Rafiquddin Bhuiya Habu, Asaduzzaman Khan Dolon, Kazi Mostak Hossain Dipu, Sabiha Habib, Md. Abdul Kader, Advocate Jinnah Khan, Abdul Khalek Shuvo, Sirajur Rahman Khan Sajeeb, along with leaders of BNP and its affiliated organizations.
Afrooza Khanam Rita said, “Bangladesh is moving forward in a continuous path of development. New opportunities have emerged in infrastructure development, communication systems, the tourism sector, investment, and employment generation. To sustain this progress, everyone must work for the country’s interest irrespective of political affiliation.”
She alleged that an “evil force” is engaged in various conspiracies and destructive activities aimed at disrupting the country’s stability and the normal lives of the people. She also commented that these forces seek to hinder the country’s development and democratic progress.
At the same time, she called upon party leaders and activists to stand beside the people and actively engage in development activities.
The minister further stated that the dream of martyred President Ziaur Rahman was to build a self-reliant and modern Bangladesh. To realize that vision, she stressed the need to further strengthen the party organization at the grassroots level alongside playing an active role in social development initiatives. She claimed that if the development plans announced by BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman are implemented, Bangladesh will emerge as a more established and respected state in the international arena.
According to political analysts, amid ongoing discussions regarding the country’s development, economic challenges, and political stability, the message of keeping grassroots party leaders and activists active and united is highly significant. Particularly, involving grassroots leadership in future political strategies and organizational activities has now become one of the top priorities for major political parties.
Speakers at the meeting also emphasized making the organization more dynamic, gaining the trust of the people, and increasing involvement in development-oriented and public welfare activities.
