Pakistani Prime Minister’s Visit ‘Historically Significant’: Chinese Foreign Ministry

International Desk: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Tuesday briefed the media in Beijing on the overall outcomes and significance of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to China.

Speaking at a regular press conference, Mao Ning stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid an official state visit to China from May 23 to 26. She described the high-level exchange as particularly significant, as it took place during the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.

According to the spokesperson, the visit played an important role in further strengthening and advancing the longstanding special friendship between the two countries.

Mao Ning highlighted three major achievements of the visit:

First, strategic guidance through top-level diplomacy, which underscored the deep strategic nature of China-Pakistan relations.

Second, a stronger foundation for practical cooperation, demonstrating the mutually beneficial and win-win character of bilateral partnership.

Third, a new dimension of international coordination, showcasing the exemplary leadership role of China-Pakistan relations in both regional and global affairs.

The Chinese spokesperson noted that Beijing views the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties as a major opportunity to further deepen bilateral cooperation.

She emphasized that China is fully prepared to work closely with Pakistan to strengthen high-level political mutual trust, expand high-quality practical cooperation, deepen security partnership, and enhance international coordination in the years ahead.

Mao Ning added that Beijing looks forward to jointly writing a new and glorious chapter in China-Pakistan relations together with Islamabad.
