Young Bangladeshi Diplomats Set to Undergo Training in China

International: On Tuesday, August 19, the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka hosted a farewell reception for Bangladeshi diplomats participating in the 2026 China Training Programme for Bangladeshi diplomats. Md. Farhadul Islam, Secretary for Intergovernmental Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the event as the chief guest. Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen also addressed the event.

Rector of the Bangladesh Foreign Service Academy Ambassador Mohammad Abdul Muhit, diplomats preparing to travel to China for the training programme, and officials of the Chinese Embassy were present at the event.

Ambassador Yao Wen said that relations between Bangladesh and China are at a new and important stage. He stressed that young diplomats have an important role to play in further strengthening the friendship between the two countries.

He urged the trainees to learn as much as possible from their visit to China and use the experiences they gain there to further advance the friendship between Bangladesh and China.

Md. Farhadul Islam thanked China for organizing the training programme. He said the training in China for young Bangladeshi diplomats is an important initiative for diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.

He expressed hope that through their visit to China, the trainees would gain a better understanding of the country’s development and foreign policy. He said they would later be able to use their experience to contribute to further strengthening relations between Bangladesh and China.
