Pakistan hands over letter on IIOJK to OIC chief
  4, September, 2026, 1:13:16:AM

WR Desk: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Raja Ali Ejaz, called on OIC Secretary General Dr Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen in Jeddah and handed over a letter from Pakistan’s Foreign Minister regarding the Kashmir dispute.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ambassador Raja Ali Ejaz briefed the OIC Secretary General on the situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including the restrictions imposed by Indian authorities following New Delhi’s unilateral actions of August 05.

The OIC Secretary General reiterated the organization’s principled position on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and assured his full support to Pakistan and the Kashmiri people.

The Pakistani ambassador thanked the OIC Secretary General for the organization’s continued support for the Kashmir cause and for highlighting the issue at international forums.

The OIC has consistently maintained that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The meeting took place amid continued international concern over the situation in IIOJK following India’s August 05, 2019 decision to revoke the territory’s special constitutional status and impose sweeping administrative changes.
