International, October 3 : Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has extended greetings and congratulations to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

In a congratulatory message sent last Thursday, the prime minister conveyed warm greetings and congratulations to the Chinese president on behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh as well as on his own behalf.

In the message, the prime minister said that over the past five decades, the longstanding friendship between Bangladesh and China has continued to develop through mutual respect, trust and understanding. The scope and depth of bilateral relations between the two countries have continued to expand, bringing their peoples closer together. It has also created new opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The prime minister said the joint commitment to building a Bangladesh-China community with a shared future in the new era marks an important milestone in relations between the two countries. He expressed hope that this shared goal would further strengthen the bonds of friendship between Bangladesh and China and open up new areas of cooperation for mutual benefit.

In the congratulatory message, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman also wished the Chinese president good health and well-being.
