  24, October, 2026, 12:02:53:AM

Marking the grand finale of the "International Audio-Visual Arts Carnival," the International Audio-Visual Arts Night was held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center on October 22. Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and President of China Media Group (CMG); Gong Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai; and Ahmed Nadeem, Secretary-General of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), addressed the event.

In his address, Shen Haixiong stated that over more than eight years since its establishment, CMG has steadily advanced its strategic layout of "5G+4K/8K+AI" and continually fostered new productive forces across the media domain. He noted that the partnership between CMG and Shanghai harnesses the robust reach and resources of international mainstream media platforms in content innovation and asset integration.

Shen pointed out that technological innovation empowers cultural creativity, while open collaboration fosters mutual learning and dialogue. Consequently, innovative artistic concepts are effectively complemented and elevated by cutting-edge technological expertise.

Addressing the gathering, Gong Zheng emphasized that the audio-visual sector serves as a widely cherished cultural medium for the public and a critical domain for shaping Shanghai`s cultural identity. In collaboration with CMG, Shanghai will actively advance the "International Audio-Visual Arts Co-Creation Initiative," vigorously upgrade and modernize the city`s entire audio-visual industrial chain, amplify the metropolis`s cultural soft power, and better meet the public`s aspirations for a higher quality of life.

Ahmed Nadeem remarked that as the world`s largest international broadcasting union, the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union is committed to deepening cooperation among regional broadcasters, expanding peer exchanges, and promoting collaborative development. He lauded CMG for formulating forward-looking blueprints and achieving remarkable milestones by integrating artificial intelligence with ultra-high-definition technologies. He added that this carnival provided an invaluable platform for the industry to exchange frontier achievements and explore future trajectories for audio-visual media development.
