Online Desk : Home Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Tuesday said the government will appoint a total of 1,000 students on a priority basis to assist traffic control alongside the police.
He made the announcement while talking to the reporters after inspecting the head offices of Special Branch (SB) and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) this afternoon.
“We have sent a proposal about appointing students to help traffic management. So far, 400 students have been assigned,” he said.
Asked him how the students will maintain their study and assist traffic control at the same time, he replied, “They will work on the road two to three hours a day so that they can study well. For this, they are being given a remuneration.”
