Three leaders of the National Citizen Party (NCP) have resigned from their respective positions. They are Joint Chief Coordinator Abu Hanif, Joint Chief Organizer (North Region) Hanif Khan Sajib, and Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Zahir.
All three submitted separate resignation letters to NCP`s Convener Md Nahid Islam on Thursday. A source from the party confirmed the development.
In their resignation letters, all three cited personal reasons for stepping down from their party positions.
Sources confirmed that Abu Hanif had served as a member of the higher council and media coordinator of the Gono Odhikar Parishad. The NCP was officially launched on February 28 at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital. Following the launch, Hanif and at least 20 members of the Gono Odhikar Parishad joined the new party. Within a week of its formation, they announced their resignations.
