Hajj Flights to Commence Next Tuesday
  27, April, 2025, 11:18:28:AM

The holy Hajj flights are scheduled to begin next Tuesday, April 29th. This year, a total of 87,100 Bangladeshi pilgrims will travel to Saudi Arabia to perform the sacred Hajj.

Among them, 5,200 pilgrims will be under government management, while the remaining 81,900 will travel through private arrangements.

The formal inauguration of the flights will be officiated by A F M Khalid Hossain, the Religious Affairs Advisor of the interim government. On the first day, 419 pilgrims will depart Dhaka for Saudi Arabia.

The inaugural flight is scheduled to leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:15 AM for Saudi Arabia.

To ensure smooth Hajj management, 112 guides will be responsible at the government level and 1,743 guides at the private level. Additionally, 70 Moallems (religious teachers) will provide overall assistance to the pilgrims.

Three airlines, including Biman Bangladesh Airlines, are prepared to transport the pilgrims. The Hajj flights will continue until May 31st. The return flights will commence on June 10th and conclude on July 10th.

For this year`s holy Hajj, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate 118 flights, Saudia will operate 80 flights, and Nas Airlines will operate 34 flights.

A crucial part of the Hajj is the Hajj sermon at the Arafat Maidan, which is delivered from the Namira Mosque on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah. This year, the Hajj sermon will once again be broadcast live across various countries worldwide and will be simultaneously translated into 20 languages.

The languages in which the Hajj sermon will be translated are Bengali, French, Malay, Urdu, Persian, Chinese, Turkish, Russian, Hausa, English, Swedish, Spanish, Swahili, Amharic, Italian, Portuguese, Bosnian, Malayalam, Filipino, and German.

It is noteworthy that the holy Hajj for the year 1446 Hijri (corresponding to June 5th, 2025, subject to moon sighting) will be performed.
