Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (April 27) predicted that mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over different parts of the country.
According to a BMD bulletin, the heat wave is affecting Rajshahi division and the districts of Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Manikgonj, Maulvibazar, Khulna, Jashore, and Chuadanga, and is expected to persist.
In addition, rain and thunderstorms with lightning and temporary gusty winds are likely in a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Sylhet divisions, with isolated occurrences in Rajshahi and Chattogram divisions.
The BMD also noted that both day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country. The highest temperature recorded on Saturday was 38.3°C in Rajshahi, while the lowest was 19.0°C in Rajarhat, Rangpur.
The sun will set at 6:26 PM today and rise at 5:27 AM tomorrow in the capital.
