Police in Khulna recovered four bodies from different areas within a span of 24 hours, from Monday (September 29) to Tuesday (September 30) morning.

On Tuesday around 10:00 am, the body of a young man named Prince was recovered from the platform of Khulna Railway Station. Wahid Khan, a member of the Railway Nirapatta Bahini, said that the deceased was around 25 years old and worked at a hotel near the station.

Earlier on Monday night around 9:00 pm, police recovered the half-decomposed body of an unidentified man from a pond owned by Ideal Company near Jabusa intersection in Rupsa. The body was found with hands and legs tied.

Rupsa Police Station Officer-in-charge Md Mahfuzur Rahman said the police recovered the body after receiving a call through the national emergency number 999. It is believed that the man had been dead in the water for three to five days. The body was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.

Around 7:00 pm on Monday, police recovered another unidentified body from the side of the Khulna-Mongla highway. The deceased was an elderly man, approximately 80 years old.

Locals spotted the man lying lifeless by the roadside near Khan Jahan Ali Bridge and informed police. It is suspected that he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.

In another incident, the body of a housewife named Josna Kundu was recovered from a pond near her home in Batiaghata on Monday morning. She was reportedly returning home after finishing work on Sunday night when she accidentally fell into the pond, confirmed by Batiaghata Police Station Officer-in-charge Md Abdur Rahim.
