Police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers from Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Saturday afternoon.
The arrested are Abul Kalam, 35, a resident of Noyonpur Paschimpara village under Kasba police station in the upazila and Md Anwar Hossain, 40, a resident of Majhigacha Purbopara village under Akhaura upazila in the district.
According to police, they conducted a drive near Bayek Dakkhinpara area under Kasba police station and arrested the duo with 16 kg of hemp. Another individual fled during the drive.
Police also seized an unregistered CNG autorickshaw during the drive.
Kasba police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Kader confirmed the incident and said that a case has been filed against the arrested accused under the Narcotics Control Act.
