Special Correspondent: A joyous and vibrant Eid reunion of the Dhaka University Friends Forum (1996–97 Batch) was held in Basila, on the outskirts of Dhaka. The event, organized on Friday, April 3, 2026, at New vision Eco City, was attended by nearly 200 friends.

From 12 noon onwards, the venue buzzed with excitement as participants arrived. On behalf of New vision Eco City, Group Chairman Muhammad Belal Hossain welcomed the friends with sweet drinks. Reuniting with old classmates after a long time created an atmosphere of emotional and festive joy. Many attendees traveled from abroad, making it an even more wonderful gathering.

Following a welcome speech by Tariqul Islam Monir, Managing Director of New vision Eco City, members of DUFF expressed their hope that such events would be organized regularly. They noted that amidst busy lives, reunions with old friends provide mental peace and strengthen bonds of friendship.

It is noteworthy that in 2025, Masud Karim Chowdhury, another member of DUFF and Dhaka University 1996–97 session alumnus of the Arabic Department, Executive Director of a Multibrand WORKSHOP Ltd had organized a similar reunion at his Tejgaon office premises.

The day-long reunion featured a Qawwali evening, lively conversations, and memory-sharing sessions. DUFF members reminisced about their university days, creating an atmosphere of nostalgia for everyone present.

The lunch menu was diverse. In addition to traditional local dishes, sweets and various desserts were served. Sharing the meal together further strengthened the bonds of friendship among the participants.

Throughout the day, tea and coffee were served, and in the final part of the program, hot jalebi, chotpoti, and fuchka were offered, concluding with a group photo session. At the farewell, everyone promised to meet again.

Overall, this Eid reunion became a unique and memorable day for the DUFF members, reinvigorating their bonds of friendship and brotherhood.

In the closing moments of the celebration, Muhammad Belal Hossain, ex Student of Arabic Department and Group Chairman of New vision Eco City, along with his spouse and family, exchanged greetings and presented gifts to the friends of Dhaka University’s 1996–97 batch, marking the conclusion of the event.
