| Golam Sarwar Milon, former lawmaker for Manikganj-4 constituency and former Deputy Minister of Education, has died at his residence in the capital.
He was 69.
Family sources said that Milon breathed his last following a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Sunday, April 26. He was later taken to Popular Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead on arrival.
He is survived by his wife Fatema Sarwar, son Sabayer Sarwar, daughter Tanzia Sarwar Ommi, and a host of relatives.
His son, Sabayer Sarwar, said that the first namaz-e-janaza of his father will be held after Zuhr prayers at Singair Pilot High School ground in Manikganj, followed by a second Janaza in Dhaka.
Leaders from different political, social, and cultural organisations have expressed deep shock at the death of Milon and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
