| The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning of thunderstorms and strong winds across six regions of the country, with gusts potentially reaching 60–80 kilometres per hour in some areas by Sunday evening.
According to an inland river port weather bulletin issued from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 26, temporary gusty winds accompanied by rain or thunderstorms may affect parts of Rangpur, Bogura, Pabna, Tangail, Mymensingh, and Sylhet.
The weather office said winds are likely to blow from the west or northwest direction. River ports in the affected regions have been advised to hoist Local Warning Signal no-2.
In a separate special weather bulletin issued late Saturday night, the department said deep convective cloud formation may persist over northern and adjoining areas of the country.
It added that Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions could experience heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 96 hours, with rainfall intensity ranging from 44–88 millimetres per hour and in some places reaching up to 188 millimetres.
The Met Office also cautioned that intense rainfall may cause temporary waterlogging in parts of Mymensingh and Sylhet city areas.
