86 Dhaka-Saudi flights cancelled, 13,490 passengers` travel uncertain
  14, October, 2026, 11:28:54:AM

A total of 86 flights from Dhaka to Saudi Arabia have been cancelled amid airport restrictions in the kingdom following Houthi attacks, disrupting travel plans for 13,490 passengers, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the CAAB said the cancellations involved 36 direct flights and 50 connecting flights.

Of the cancelled direct flights, 14 were operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 10 by US-Bangla Airlines, five by Saudia and seven by Riyadh Air.

The connecting flight cancellations included 22 flights operated by IndiGo, four by SalamAir, one by EgyptAir, 11 by Emirates, six by Qatar Airways and six by flydubai.

The cancellations have left thousands of passengers facing travel disruptions as restrictions affect flight operations to Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all flights from Dhaka to Dammam and Riyadh until October 17, citing passenger safety concerns following attacks on airports in Saudi Arabia.

Passengers scheduled to travel on the affected routes have been advised to stay updated on changes to their flight schedules through their respective airlines.
