Dhaka’s most popular public transport, metrorail, resumed operations today after a one-day closure in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals for Muslims.
According to a spokesperson from Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the first train departed from Uttara North Station for Motijheel at 7:10 am, while the first train from Motijheel left for Uttara North Station at 7:30 am.
Metrorail services remained suspended on Monday for Eid celebrations. Earlier, DMTCL had announced that the service would be closed only on Eid day and would resume as usual the following morning.
